The Difference of Grate Ball Mill and Overflow Ball Mill

Wet ball mill include grate/lattice ball mill and overflow ball mill. The discharge grain size of the grate/lattice ball mill is generally 0.2mm--0.3mm, so it is commonly used in the first stage of grinding, and often forms a closed circuit cycle with the spiral classifier. Introduction of Overflow Ball Mill.

The structure of the discharging end of the Grate/lattice ball mill is different from that of the overflow ball mill. It is pointed out in this paper that the hollow axis diameter of the discharging end of the overflow mill is slightly larger than the hollow axis diameter of the feed end, which results in a certain inclination of the slurry in the mill towards the discharging end. When the surface height of slurry is higher than the minimum busbar of outlet diameter, the slurry will overflow out of the ball mill. This is a non-forced high level ore discharge, the discharging speed is slow, so the retention time of ore material in the machine is long, the effective effect of medium is also low, so the overflow mill is overground seriously and the handling capacity is lower than that of the lattice type of the same specification.
